B-Certificates Awarded As FA Passes Another Milestone in Coach Education
FA hands over B- Diploma Certificates after getting approved from Asian Football Confederation.
AFC approved Maldives for the B-Certificate level Coaching Convention. Now Maldives can hold the B-Certificate course and award FAM-AFC B-Certificates. Other countries in the B- Convention are Brunei, Iraq, DPR Korea, Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Myanmar, Palestine, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste and Singapore.
In the past seven years, The FA has given special attention to educating Maldivian coaches. Hiring experienced coach Ihusan Abdul Ghani and then grassroots instructor Ahmed Shareef(Dunga) as Technical Director. FA Coach Education Department is run by Mohamed Shazly(Shaz) creating more instructors in this time. Maldives has two B-License Instructors, 3 C-License Instructors and more than twenty D-License Instructors one of the strongest in the region with only India having a higher level.
Maldives captains Assad Abdul Ghani and Ismail Asif(Kuda Heena) are among those who acquired the B-Certificate.
