Experienced Midfielder Mohamed Arif (Baka) is one of the 5 players dropped from the Maldives National team ahead of trip to Qatar.

Maldives will be camping in Qatar in preparation for the SAFF Championships.

The Defending Champions dropped the United Victory captain along with Maziya captain Mohamed Irufaan, Eagles vice captain Imran Nasheed and TC Sports Mohamed Ajufaan. Club Green Streets vice captain Mohamed Saaif missed out after testing positive to Covid-19 and missing the trainings.

Maldives opted to recall Gassim Samaam of Da Grande to fill the shortage at defence to complete their squad.
