Talking to BoalhaMV, Eagles Gaffer Mohamed Shazly(shaz) said though Bengaluru FC is a very good side with a very good record, Club Eagles are hopeful of beating them.

"All the players are enthusiastic and ready for the challenge" said the former TC Sports and BG Sports Coach. According to Shaz, there are no injury issues and the team are in good spirits.

Shaz took over from experienced coach Mohamed Shiyaz, in the second half of the season and brought the club from second bottom to a creditable fourth place finish in the league. Since the Premier League ended, Club Eagles have signed the Maldivian legendary striker Ali Ashfa(Dhagandey), Maldives captain Akram Abdhul Ghani, Maldives goalkeeper Mohamed Faisal, experienced midfielder Mohamed Arif(Baka)  and his team-mate midfield maestro Ismail Easa.  Since the end of the DPL, Eagles also saw the return of talisman striker Ali Fasir(Sentey). Sentey moved to Club Valencia last season, only to return for the AFC Cup.
