Maldives to Host Group D Matches of The AFC Cup
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed that the Group D matches of the AFC Cup will be held in Maldives.
The winner of the play-off match between Club Eagles and Bengaluru FC will join Indian Giants Mohun Bagan AC , Bangladesh's Bashundhara Kings and the Maldivian Champions Maziya Sports. After the round robin top two will play an Inter-Zone semi-final.
The Group D matches will be played on 18th, 21st and the 24th of August.
Eagles, qualified as the runner-up of the Dhivehi Premier League as the FA Cup was cancelled. Eagles will take on Bangaluru FC on the 15th of August in Maldives. Indian legendary player Sunil Chhetri is among the star studded squad of Bengaluru FC, 2016's AFC Cup runner-up.
