Liverpool suffer yet another home defeat
Defending premiership Champions Liverpool suffered yet another home defeat as they went down 1-0 against Brighton. Steven Alzate fired home past Alisson to secure the points for Graham Potters side.
Brighton are 15th in the standings and have significantly improved their form with the Seagulls loosing just one of their last five games and moving ten points clear off the relegation zone. Meanwhile. Liverpool came into the game boosting with confidence after Mohamed Salah inspired Klopp's side to soothing win over on form West Ham.
The defeat comes as a huge blow for Liverpool as the Reds remain stuck to fourth place with a massive seven points a drift of Manchester City who remain at the summit and next up the Reds welcome Man City to Anfield. While Liverpool have suffered two win in their last five games City are in stunning form and are yet to concede in the last six league games and scored a note worth 15 goals en route.
Sadio Mane missed the game due to injury and Xherdan Shaqiri struggled to fill while Mohamed Salah was also quite for most of the game. Despite Liverpool's dominance in possesion the Seagulls proved to be a real scare for the Reds backline massing and incredible 11 shot with four on target while Liverpool failed to test Robert Sanchez during the course of the game.
Steven Alzate fired the hammering blow in the 56th minute when he met a Leandro Trossard cross to beat Alisson.
