Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard is set to join Arsenal on loan after Gunners Boss Mikel Arteta convinced the Norwegian to join the club. 

The 22 year old is now in London and the move will be confirmed upon finish medical and will stay in London till the rest of the season and Arsenal will be paying a 2.5 million pound loan fee.

Odegaard had almost joined Real Sociedad where he spent last season on loan but Arsenal managed to hijack the deal at the last minute. Manager Arteta was keen on completing the deal having lost Mesut Ozil to Fenerbache in the window. However, Ozil was frozen out of Arteta's squad and did not feature for the Gunners. 

Their only attacking midfield option for now is youngster Smith Rowe who has been impressive since breaking into the first team but Arteta wants more options to his side.
