Unstoppable Rizey helps fire Eagles to victory in season opener

Club Eagles lifts the 2020 FA Charity Shield after an incredible 3-2 comeback win against Maziya Sports & Recreation and inflict defeat for new Boss Mohamed Nizam on his first game in charge of the Greenboys. 

Maziya started the game strongly Samooh Ali fired home in the first minute to draw first blood in the game. Soon after things went from bad to worse when Hamza Mohamed was fouled by Eagles goalie Mohamed Sinaahu. Winger Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain converted from the spot to give Maziya a two, nil cushion. 

Maziya dropped to a more defensive game since the 15th minute as Eagles became more and more dominant. Eagles continued to dominate possession but failed to test Maziya keeper Nikolai Vujanac. The best chance for Eagles fell to Rizey. His low driven shot was inches away from the far bottom corner of the net. 

As the second half continued Eagles continued to pressure and the greenboys resilience fell apart in the space of Eight minutes. Youngster Zain Zafar thumped home to put Eagles back in contention after Rizvan found the 17 year old. Four minutes later Naim slotted home after Rizey found the winger. 

Rizey fired Eagles into the lead after Maziya's Serbian center back Petar Planic fouled the youngster inside the box. Maziya pressed on late in the game but failed to make any real threat. Eagles held on to secure victory in the season opener.
