The Dutch Center-back Virgil Van Dijk has undergone a successful knee surgery for a ligament injury says Liverpool.

Liverpool released a statement on Friday saying that “the Liverpool defender’s planned operation took place in London and was conducted successfully.”

 Van Dijk suffered the injury in English Premiere League match where Liverpool and Everton played on October 17

Liverpool says that there is no timeframe placed to Van Dijk to return to action.

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp is pleased the operation was successful but her also noted that Van Dijk has a long road to recovery.

“This Time is always unpleasant. Everybody who had surgery knows that. You don’t wake up and everything is fine, you feel the surgery. But he is good, as good as he can be” Klopp said.
