French Authorities suspended the men's’ and women’s French Cup competitions until 1st of December after surge in covid-19 positive cases in the France.

French Football Federation (FFF) also announced that they halted all amateur football. However sports minister Roxana Macraineanu said that all elite sport can continue behind closed doors. Therefore the Top Three tiers of men’s football - Ligue1, Ligue2 and the National and women’s top competitions can continue, as international football matches.

Speaking at the parliament sports minister said “high-level athletes will be allowed to train, And then we will be allowed to compete because travelling for professional reason is allowed.”

French Government has imposed a second national lockdown until at least the end of November. 

The FFF decided to suspend all leagues, districts and national championships competitions and announced that they will fix later dates for the matches that cannot be played during the lockdown.

After President Emmaunel Macron announced a second national lockdown, people are advised to stay home, unless if it is absolutely necessary to go out.

According to health authorities so far there are recorded 1,235,132 Covid-19 positive cases, 35785 deaths and 113,977 were recovered from the virus.
