Football Association of Maldives requested HPA for the approval to hold a Friendly football matches between United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Maldives National Football team in December. 

Speaking to BoalhMV General Secretary of FAM, Hussain Jawaz said that they have sent a request to Health Protection Agency (HPA) to grant them an approval to start the league on the 8th of December.  " We have sent a request and a guideline to HPA to start the league, it all depends on HPA's approval" Jawaz said. 

Maldives and UAE will hold 2 matches. Home and away. These games will be played by both Mens and womens National Football teams. 

President of FAM Bassam Adeel Jaleel met with the UAE Football Association in August,  and  under a mutual understanding from both associations they planned  to arrange  matches between both countries after Covid-19 Pandemic situation has subsided. During the visit to UAE Bassam had a fruitful meeting the Chairman of UAE FA  H.H Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and the Board Members.
