Paris St German (PSG) beat Olympique Lyonnais on Penalties and lifted the French League Cup on Friday.

PSG edged out Lyon on Penalty Kicks scoring 6 penalties, while Lyon secured 5 penalties.

Match ended in a 0-0 stalemate after regular and extra time. After the first 10 penalties were scored, PSG keeper Keylor Navas saved from Bertrand Traore, before Pablo Sarabia scored the winning kick.

According to media reports the game was watched by about 5,000 fans at the Stade de France. It was the Final French League Cup final, with the decision made last September to cancel the tournament after the season.

After losing this Final match Lyon has to win this season's Champions League in order to make sure they are not facing a first season without European Football since 1996-97.

Lyon had won league Cup in 2001. Since then Lyon has lost four other Finals in the Competition.

The 2020-21 Ligue 1 season begins on 23 August. It is also the same day that Champions League will hold it's Final.
