F1 to change season schedule without teams approval

F1 boss Chase Cory has insisted that the season schedule will be decided by Formula one group and not by the teams. The 2020 F1 season is in total turmoil after the first seven races were cancelled and no races happening until June.

F1 bosses were publicly criticized for trying to stage the Australian Grand Prix on March 15 amid worldwide coronavirus outbreak.

Six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was one of the most vocal as he arrived in Melbourne days before the season opener was due to take place and said it was "shocking" that he was there.

F1 officials were forced to suspend the Melbourne event at the last minute while races in Bahrain, Vietnam and China were also called off.

F1 has also decided to scrap the Dutch, Spanish and famous Monaco grand prix in May as well but are hopeful of rescheduling some of these later in the year after the coronavirus outbreak. Carey says the final race calendar will be made in consultation with the teams, but the final decision will remain with F1 and the FIA.
