TC Sports Club have departed for the first game of the AFC Cup in Dhaka. TC taken on Bangladeshi champions Basandhura Kings managed by former New radiant boss Oscar Bruzon.

TC have splashed the cash to try and strengthen their squad for the AFC Cup. Ali Ashfaq joined from Club Green Streets while a number of players from Foakaidhoo joined the Henveiru lions. Full back Ali Shaamis joined Saqib Haneef, Khalil Qamal and Mahmoud Saeed. Maziya defender Abdullah Haneef also returned to his former club. St Vincent striker Malcolm Stewart also joined the club.

As TC prepare for their maiden fixture in the AFC Cup they come up against a familiar rival in Oscar Bruzon. During Oscar’s tenure with New Radiant, TC never beat the Blues and suffered back to back defeats in both cups. Ibrahim Fazeel’s brilliantly took down TC in the FA cup and the Blues took home the President cup in similar fashion as well.

The biggest concern for TC boss Shaz will be knowing that Oscar Bruzon is familiar with Maldivian football and many players. Oscar has worked with the likes of Ali Ashfaq who leads TC’s line upfront. TC will be well prepared having camped in Doha ahead of the AFC Cup.
