Maziya get the edge on the first leg
Maziya Sports get the edge of the first leg with a 2-1 victory at home thanks to goals from Ibrahim Mahudhee Hassan and Stewart Cornelius. Bengaluru got their away goal from a penalty. Nilli converted from the spot after a Bengaluru player and Nilli collided in the box.
Maziya can travel to Bengaluru with an ease in pressure knowing they have the lead from the first leg. However Bengaluru will be happy with the away goal when they host Maziya on the 26th of this month.
Maziya tarted the game with Azizi in goal. Sharif and Petar started in center back while Lily and Samooh played as full backs. Aisam and captain Irufaan played in holding mid while Ibrahim Mahudhee and Hamza played out wide. Cornelius Stewart started upfront.
Maziya took the lead in the 68th minute of the game when Ibrahim Mahudhee low drive found the far bottom corner of the net but Maziya's joy was cancelled out when Nilli converted from the spot.
Despite Bengaluru drawing level Maziya continued to push forward when the opportunity arose and their hard work was awarded when Cornelius Stewart found himself clean through on goal and placed the ball into the back of the net in a one on one situation against Bengaluru goalie Gurpeert Singh Sandhu.
For the return leg that takes pace on 26th Maziya striker Naaiz Hassan and attacking mid Waheed Hassan are expected to return to full fitness.
