TC Sports Club have departed to Qatar for Preseason ahead of the upcoming AFC Cup 2020 group stage. The preseason was arranged by FA Maldives in an attempt to help TC arrange their team for the matches. TC are drawn in the South Asian group of the AFC Cup alongside Indian I league champions Chennai City FC, Bangladeshi Champions Basandhura Kings and playoff winners between Maziya and Bengaluru FC. 

TC have splashed the cash to try and strengthen their squad for the AFC Cup. Ali Ashfaq joined from Club Green Streets while a number of players from Foakaidhoo joined the Henveiru lions. Full back Ali Shaamis joined Saqib Haneef, Halil Qamal and Mahmoud Saeed. Maziya defender Abdullah Haneef also returned to his former club. St Vincent striker Malcolm Stewart also joined the club. 

TC debut game in the Asian group stages take place in Nilphamari when they take on Bangladeshi champions Basandhura Kings managed by former New Radiant boss Oscar Bruzon.
