Andrej Keric's late winner gives victory important win as they push for top four finish.
Victory sports club earn all three points and keep hopes of top four finish alive after Andrej Keric’s late winner. Ali Suzain’s men were comfortably cruising towards all three points but his brother Nazeeh and his side had other ideas. UV came back from two goals down to level the score but Keric struck the winner late on.
Victory faced the game without center-back Mitkov Velichkov due to suspension and UV were without defender Vukobrat Dorde.
The first chance of the game fell to UV seconds after the game started. Mistake from victory defenders saw UV’s Ibrahim Nooradhdheen receive the ball in space but his Shot was wide of the target.
In the 4th minute Hassan Adham shoot from inside the six yard box after failed clearance by UV.
Two minutes later Adham crossed the ball into the box. Keric’s first time shot was saved by Amirov.
UV striker Zivkovic shot inside the Victory box was saved by Mahmoud Al Youssef in the 9th minute.
Soon after Zivkovic twists and turns before shooting from inside the Victory D area. But his shot was blocked.
In the 13th minute Keric scored for Victory after Musthafa Sediks cross. Keric placed the ball into the bottom corner.
Six minutes later Victory doubled their advantage. Adham scored after Sedik drives into the area and crosses the ball to Adham who taps the ball into the back of the net.
Victory kept on pushing forward attack after attack continued. In the 21st minute UV goalkeeper Amirov fouls Keric in the middle of UV’s after coming out to clear the ball that beat the UV’s high line defense. Referee quickly pulled out the yellow card for Amirov. The resulting free-kick was a comfortable save for him.
In the 26th minute midfielder Shaan produced a fine saved. However his shot was matched by Mahmoud.
In the 36th minute energetic winger Adham runs into the UV box and fires a powerful shot. The woodwork came to the rescue of UV.
In the 42nd minute mark UV striker Zivkovic shoots way over the bar. This was the last action of the first half.
The second half started with Victory dominating and in the 48th minute came a controversial decision. Keric was fouled inside the UV box and after confusion between the referee and the linesmen a free-kick was given.
Chances came for Keric as he continued to miss them. In the 50th minute Riswan’s through ball finds Keric who shot wide of the target.
Two minutes later Victory captain Easa runs into the UV box and fires a powerful cross towards the goal but Keric who was first to the ball failed to make good contact with the ball.
In the hour mark Egyptian winger Sedik goes on a solo run from the flank and into the UV area before going past a defender and goalkeeper Amirov. He pulled the trigger but in the meantime slips and shot is blocked by UV onrushing defenders.
Ten minutes later UV get their first goal to make it 2-1. Zivkovic receives the ball in front of the Victory area and rolls the ball towards team mate Waadu who fired a bullet into the back of the net. No chance what so ever for Victory’s Syrian custodian Mahmoud.
In the 71st minute victory got a glorious chance to get their two goal lead back but Adham missed from close range.
Adham’s missed opportunity came to haunt his team four minutes later. A long cross from inside the left flank finds Ibrahim Safraz who places the ball into the top corner over the hand of Mahmoud with his head to make it 2-2. Brilliant come back from UV.
Soon after UV’s equalizer Victory started piling up uncontained amount of pressure. Victory continue wave of attack and UV defense broke up and Keric scored after a corner from Adham which was flicked towards goal by a Victory player and keric places the ball into the net with his head in the 87th minute.
With this win UV are 2nd bottom in league standings with 3 points while Victory earn 14 points from 9 games.
