Ismail Asif has been appointed head coach by Foakaidhoo FC.

Asif one of the assistants of former coach Ali Nisthar Mohamed, has taken over formally and will start their FA Cup preparations on saturday the 15th. Foakaidhoo FC will play Da Grande on the 5th of March.

Talking to BoalhaMV, FFC's assistant manager Mohamed Shiham said that they are pleased that Asif stayed on. The FFC official said that they are very happy with coach Asif's contribution throughout the season. "Coach Asif's contribution to the club has been amazing, specially during the difficuilt times. We have every confidence that Asif will take Foakaidhoo FC forward" the FFC assistant manager said.

"I am happy to continue the progress Foakaidhoo has made in the last two seasons. I will do my best to repay the faith Foakaidhoo FC President (Ahmed)Asif has in me" Ismail Asif said talking to BoalhaMV.

Asif who recently completed his AFC B-Certificate course is only the third coach from his batch, after his namesake Ismail Asif(Kuda Heena) and Ali Hassan to coach in the top tier. The Foakaidhoo FC coach is still player for SUS- Super United Sports. They are in the semi-finals of the second division.

Foakaidhoo finished 6th in the Dhivehi Premier League this season.
