AFC Qualifying Ends For An Attacking Maldives U 19 loss to Lebanon
Maldives lose their final group game of AFC Cup under 19 qualifying Group C game against Lebanon 0-2 today.
Maldivian youngster's started the game with attacking intent taking the game to Lebanon. Lebanon opened the scoring in the 19th minute by A. Hijazi. Goalkeeper Aleef was beaten on his near post with a powerful effort to make it 1-0 for Lebanon.
Though Maldives looked promising going forward, the young Snappers' look vulrenable in defense. Heroics by Maldives goalkeeper Aleef keeping Lebanon at bay.
Lebanon's second goal came from a corner. A.Dakrama tapped in the rebound to make it 2-0 for Lebanon.
The Maldives youngsters will return to Male' on the 8th. The young side traveled to Tajikistan after gaining the third place of the SAFF Under 18 Championship in Nepal. This team is the first ever young Maldivian side to do so in the competitions short history, getting the better of two time champions and hosts Nepal in the group stages.
