Mohamed Arif(Baka) has dismissed claims by Petar Segrt about questioning his exclusion from the National team.

Before travelling with the National Team Maldives head coach Petar Segrt made the claim talking to the press. Segrt said that the Dhivehi League's leading player in the last three season Ali Ashfaq(Dhagandey) and Baka are too old to play for the national team. After saying that he did not want to talk about those players who were not present, Petar Segrt said that Baka called him to question reasons behind his exclusion from the national team.

BoalhaMV contacted Baka who was surprised at the claim. "Subhanallah(glory is to Allah), I did not say that! I do not know why coach will say that" said a confused Baka. According to Baka, he did contact Segrt. The reason Baka contacted Segrt was to invite him to Baka's Football Academy in Dhidhoo. Segrt had previously posted pictures of his visit to Baka's Academy on his Facebook page.

"Coach explained to me why he left out Dhagandey, we did not even discuss me" Baka told BoalhaMV. Baka said he did not even expect a call up. "I am very busy with the my football academy and i didn't even discuss national team selection with people close to me" he concluded.
