Mustafa Seddik Diving Header Sinks Brave Victory
Mustafa Seddik's diving header was enough for Foakaidhoo FC's 1-0 win over Victory Sports Club.
Foakaidhoo had a poor first half, where Victory surprised the Minivan Championship side with very quick counter attacks. Victory defended bravely throughout the match often breaking into Foakaidhoo danger area.
In the second half, Foakaidhoo came back stronger with Mustafa going close hitting the post, Ansar Ibrahim(Anko) hitting the cross bar and Mohamed Jailam also missing in the penalty box. In the 75th minute Mustafa threw himself to score a rebound with a header. Victory had a chance to equalize when Yusuf Jaisham Nafiz(Jai) broke free beating before firing a shot at Foakaidhoo FC custodian Saqib Hanif.
Former Eagles and Victory star just came back from an ankle injury. The President's Cup winner was replaced by Maldives under-23 International Hassan Nazeem Gassim in the dying minutes of the game.
The win takes Foakaidhoo into fourth place in the standings while Victory remains second from bottom. Later tonight United Victory will play bottom club Nilandhoo FC.
