Inter School: CHSE snatches top spot back and strengthens a spot in the final
Inter School Football Towards Future

Tonight’s game held a side struggling to cope with the tournament against a side that has rejuvenated over the course of a year and has become one of the strongest sides in the tournament. It’s Rehendhi against CHSE.

Looking at Rehendhi they came into this game with heavy defeats from the last two games conceding a total of 23 goals in the process (11 goals scored by VIHS, 12 goals scored by Ahmadhiyya). Meanwhile, CHSE currently holds a 100% record after beating Ghaazee and defending champions Ahmadhiyya on the opening day.

The game started with high pressure play from CHSE with dominance all over the pitch. The topscorer before the game started was tied with 9 goals between VIHS’s Ismail Mimrah Mueen and CHSE’s Mohamed Maaish Mausoom. Maaish got back to leading the topscorer race as he netted in at the fifth minute opening the scoring. In the 17th minute Shiaan Shareef doubled CHSE’s lead which was again increased five minutes later, corutesy of Ibrahim Amr Ziya. The first half’s last goal was scored five minutes from half time by Shiaan Shareef who gets his brace.

If Rehendhi wanted to stay in the tournament there was much they had to do during the break to improve on their weak first half display. The second half began and much alike the first half, six minutes into the game Mohamed MInvaal blasts a fine strike into the Rehendhi net. That was the first goal of what seemed like a quick fire fiesta which followed it. A minute after MInvaal’s strike Ibrahim Amr Ziya gets his second of the night which was followed up three minutes later by Mohamed Maaish Mausoom as he lands a fine strike into the goal. Four minutes later Ibrahim Amr Ziya completes his hat-trick with a graceful finish. In the 61st minute Mohamed Minvaal became the second player to complete a hat-trick in the night and three minutes later Ibrahim Amr Ziya strikes again to get his fourth and the last of goals of the night.

The match ended 10-0 in favour of CHSE and with one more game played than VIHS they regain topspot with 9 points in their bag and scoring 24 goals and conceding just one in the process. Second placed VIHS has 6 points and scored a total of 21 goals while conceding none. Ahmadhiyya follows them closely with three points and 12 goals while they conceded 3. Ghaazee on the other hand in fourth has any chance of making it through if they win against Ahmadhiyya and Rehendhi and if CHSE and Ahmadhiyya manages to beat VIHS. Winning as of current form and previous results seems like is not an option for Ghaazee. Rock bottom Rehendhi is out of the tournament with one game in hand and conceding 33 goals in the process while scoring none.

The next game in the Mamen U-18 Inter School Football Tournament would be Ahmadhiyya against Ghaazee on Thursday night. This would followed by a battle of powerhouses on Friday night as the only two teams with a 100% record take on each other. It’s CHSE against VIHS.
