Inter School: Ghaazee thrashes Dharumavantha on the road to final
The quarter final’s first game between Ghaazee and Dharumavantha ended as another goal fest by Ghaazee.
The Hulhumale’ side started the game pretty strongly by scoring in the second minute of the match courtesy of Meesam Munthaz. He was again involved in another goal five minutes later, doubling Ghaazee’s lead. However, Dharumavantha got one back as they were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute which captain Amaan Adam converts from the spot. However, Meesam Munthaz completed his hat-trick and restored Ghaazee’s 2 goal cushion in the last minute of normal time in the first half. And a minute later another goal by Ghaazee’s Shian Ahmed increased their lead as they head into halftime. Much to improve on the last minute two goals conceded for Dharumavantha.
The second half however was played pretty balanced compared to first half in which Ghaazee dominated extensively. Dharumavantha certainly did improve on their first half but were not able to find the Ghaazee net in all their tries. The only goal of the second half was Ghaazee’s 5th goal of the game scored by Hassan Azoom Ali in the 47th minute.
This win gets Ghaazee easily through to the semi-finals of the Mamen Inter School Football Championship. They will be waiting to see their opponents in the semis depending on the winner of the game between Inter School giants Majeedhiyya and defending champions Imaduddin. Certainly a game you cannot miss as these powerhouses go head to head in chase of a place in the semi final.
