In the ongoing Mamen Inter School Football Tournament 2019, Rhehendhi School has collected their straight second win to make their chances into the qauter finals stage higher. In the group D, the match between last year's sami finalist Imaduddin got defeated by Rehendhi with a 1-2 score.

 

Both teams came into the game with huge confidence as they gained first three points of the tournament from the wins of their opening games. Imaduddin, the orange army surprisingly defeated the runner up side, Iskandharu School in the opening match of group D. A late goal by Ahmed Reehan was the game kill moment during the clash of oranges and reds. Rehendhi came with A comfortable win against Ghiyasuddin International School. 

 

As an average game both kicked off the first half of the game well. Imaduddin seems on the driving seat most of the times during the first half, mean while Rehendhi also had few countable moments during their attacks. 

 

Orange Army wen to take the lead for the first time at the 14th minute mark. The number 10 Mohamed Ekan Matheen scored from inside the box to give the lead for his side. But unfortunately they could not end the first half with the lead as Rehendhi was on their back to equalise the game. As a result just before the half time Rehendhi scored to level the game. At the 34th minute, Ubaidhulla Ibrahim scored for the town boys, to set the score line 1-1.

 

It was a game, the winning side of the game will be awarded a spot in the qauter finals. As expected both sides stepped into second half of play with the plans made in the dressing room.

 

The biggest change was made by Imaduddin as they brought positional changes into the mid. The coach of orange army, recent FAM Youth Championship winning coach of Club Eagles, Ibrahim Saeed (Kaka) may have identified the issues in their mid field. He switched his central mid fielder position with another mid field player to minimize the pressure to the defence line which showed huge improvement in orange army's performance.

 

But it was not enough to stop the top form Rehendhi School. Rehendhi has seen a side which takes the full advantage of the scoring chances as they decently nets the most of it. As a result though Imadudin was having more posession of ball, at the 55th minute Rehendhi went to take the lead. A beautiful strike on the far post of 18 yard box by Adam Shiyan made it 1-2 on the score line. And it was it. Rehendhi won and has strengthen their chances to quarters while Imaduddin fell into a situation where they have one last hope, a big one from their last group stage match against Ghiyasuddin.

 

This year's Inter School Football tournament, under 15 age group matches is held at National Football Stadium. Entrance is all free for all the fans.
