Hampu joins Maziya
After bidding farewell to New Radiant a week ago, Hamza Mohamed (Hampu) has signed a 3 year contract with Maziya.
The player bid farewell to his old club with an emotional message thanking the club and its staff on his facebook page. He wrote, "Words will never be enough to show how much everyone at the club means to me, in particular the fans. We achieved so many great memories together within the past five years and I couldn't have succeeded without you. I hope I have done you all proud wearing the blue shirt".
His former club New Radiant was suspended from all FAM activities close to the start of the Youth Championship due to complaints from some players and staff about unpaid salaries. At this period of crisis the players of the club played the Youth Championship in the colours of United Victory and many big players have been linked to transfers away from the club as the club cannot take part in this year’s Premier League. Another such player is Rilwan Waheed (Riley) who has also left the club. Players like Imran Mohamed and Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey) also according to sources faced similar problems in the club.
Despite, concerns raised by other clubs on behalf of New Radiant, FAM responded saying they will do anything to protect the country’s football and its integrity.
Hampu, the national team striker, was linked with DA GANG, TC Sports Club, Green Streets and Foakaidhoo FC before his surprise signing to Maziya.
