The evening game of today between Kalaafaanu and Hiriyaa ended in favour of the purple side.

A pretty dry and balanced first half saw its only goal in the 17^th minute. Hiriyaa’s Hussain Zain Muaz with the strike. The second half brought more excitement with it. The dressing room talks surely had its effects. Kalaafaanu started dominantly and drew level with a 57^th minute strike from Ibrahim Shaibaan. But afterwards it was the purple side that had the upper hand in the game. Two quick fire strikes from Ismail Ikan of Hiriyaa in the 68^th and 69^th minute brought an end to any hopes of Kalaafaanu getting anything from the game.

The match ended in 3-1 in favour of Hiriya which puts them just behind Dharumavantha in group B with a one goal difference.

Tomorrow’s afternoon game will feature one of the matches of the tournaments. Powerhouses of inter-school football Majeedhiyya take on Muhyiddin. Later on in the evening game Ahmadhiyya will take on Aminiyya. This group also known as the “group of death” is expected to feature the most hyped games with three powerhouses in that group. With only two having a chance to make it through to the next round it’s going to be exciting to see how this group progresses.
