Inter School: Jamaluddin and Ghaazee wins the opening day matches
Inter-school football kicks off with a bang Under-15 inter-school football tournament has kicked off this afternoon.
The first game held saw newbie of the tournament Huravee thrashed by a mighty Jamaluddin side. The match kicked off at 1400hrs at National Stadium. Jamaluddin was the overall better side in the game with more control and possession of the ball with them. Jamaluddin drew first blood at the 30th minute with a strike from Ahmed Raul Assad who completed his brace 6 minutes later in first half stoppage time.
Like the ending of the first 35 minutes, the opening of the second 35 minutes was a nightmare for the tournament rookies. Mohamed Uwais and Ahmed Thoif Rilwan had their say of the game in the 42nd and 46th minute respectively. The game went on to end in that score of 4-0. Horror of start for the Huravee side in their first tournament.
This game was followed by the clash of Ghaazee and Thaajuddin. The former winners of the tournament Ghaazee started the game strongly and marked their day with the quickest goal of the day, coming in the 5th minute courtesy of Hassan Azoom Ali. However, Abdulla Riffan of Thaajuddin had other ideas and wasn’t going to let Ghaazee off that easily. In the 28th minute his strike drew the game level with half time approaching. Another set of details to discuss in the dressing room for Ghaazee as they were set to improve on their first half.
The second half, like the first began with a bang from Ghaazee. A 35th minute strike from that man, Hassan Azoom Ali again got the Ghaazee side back on track. Although thaajuddin was pouring their all into the game, the game was put to bed at the 41st minute by the Ghaazee striker Mohamed Layaan Ahmed.
Strong play from both the group A favourites see them in the top spots of their group.
