Adubarey selected the National team Captain for the match against Palestine

Experienced midfielder Assad Ali (Adubarey) has been selected as the captain of the National Football Team playing against Palestine in the Asian Cup Qualifying tomorrow night.

A new captain was selected for the match as the current National Captain Ali Ashfaq has not been included in the squad due to an injury and the Vice-captain Imran Mohamed has retired from International Football.

National Football team coach Darren Steward stated that Assad Ali deserved the captains arm band, and that he was already a leader in the pitch even without the band. He also stated that Assad Ali was respected by the team mates and he was sure that Assad Ali was ready to take on the additional responsibilities that came with the captaincy.

Assad Ali said he was proud to be selected the National Team Captain, but what was more important was to get a good result in tomorrow night’s match against Palestine. Assad Ali has been a regular member of that National Team since 2007. He has also been a regular captain at club level, captioning New Radiant Sports Club, VB sports Club and B.G. Sports Club during his playing carrier.

Shafiu Ahmed of club Valencia was selected as the vice-caption for the match.
