The draw for the Youth Championship which starts within a week, is going to be held today.

The tournament’s first stage is expected to be a group stage with one group having 5 teams and the other having 4 teams. The top 2 teams from each group is to qualify for the semi-finals with the second placed team from one group playing the first placed team of the other group. The winners of those 2 matches are to go into the final match which will decide the title winner.

This year’s tournament hopes to be one of the most competitive tournaments to be held with nine teams taking part. In this year’s Youth Championship, Club Eagles, Maziya Sports and Recreation, Club Green Streets, TC Sports Club, Victory Sports Club, New Radiant Sports Club, Da Grande Amigos New Generation (Da G.A.N.G), Foakaidhoo Football Club and Eydhafushi Club will be participating.

ިImpressive players from the tournament is to be called up for the U-23 national team which starts their training tomorrow for the upcoming 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification and according to FAM which is the one reason the youth tournament is to be held in soonest possible time in the quickest possible way.
