Aathif resigns as the head coach of United Victory
Two matches into the season, United Victories Coach Mohamed Athif (Athi)has resigned.
In a press conference held today at the FAM House, he sited that UV was not functioning as a team and lacked direction and target for the season as the main reasons behind his resignation. He stated that during the 52 practise sessions held so far this season United Victory did not function as a team and that one or more of the departments had issues.
Under the leadership of Aathi, UV finished fourth in their debut season at the top flight last year. But this year the squad has changed with a number of good players from last season transferring to other clubs. UV was the last club to start the preparations for the new season.
Aathi also said that he would be taking a break from coaching and hasn’t decided what his next assignment would be. Aathi previously has worked as the Head coach of the Women’s National Team as well as the Assistant coach of the Senior National Team.
