Legendary Maldivian goalkeeper Imran Mohamed(Imma) thanked his supporters ahead of his official National team retirement game set to take place on the 30^th with former Danish goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel and retired Real Madrid star Michael Salgado taking part in the game.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper Imran Mohamed boast an impressive career record spanning more than 18 years while being the first choice national goalkeeper for 17 years. With 95 caps to his name Imran played a key role in the 2008 SAFF championship victory being a vital member of the squad.

A club career took the shot stopper to six clubs where he won several league championships and a number of FA and President cups and reached AFC Cup quarter final with New Radiant. The Blues were knocked out in the quarter final by eventual winners Kuwait SC.

Imran also famously scored a wonder goal in the Maldivian Presidents cup from an impressive 115 yards against Victory Sports Club.

 In a post made on Facebook Imran thanked the fans saying that the best things he achieved in his footballing career was the love of the Maldivian fans.

Imran’s final game for the Red Snappers was against Laos aged 35 on October 12^th 2016. A living legend, Imran Mohamed is highly respected in the South Asian football scene and is consider one of the best goalkeepers to ever grace the field from the region.
