Maziya SR Club with play their first match in Group E of the AFC Cup 2017 today at 1800 hours (Local time) against the Bangladesh Premier League champions Dhaka Abahani in the Bangabandhu National Stadium. The game will be shown live on TVM.

In the group E along with these two clubs are the Indian Champion Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan of India who on the way to qualifying eliminated Club Valencia of the Maldives.

With changes to the tournament format, only the group winners of each group is to qualify for the next round making each match vital. Maziya SR Club arrived at Bangladesh on Sunday but canceled their practice on Sunday afternoon due to the long journey and citing the heavy traffic and other arrangements at the venue.

Head Coach of Maziya S&R Marjan Sekulovski said it will be a tough match. “The team who will play their best utilizing the chances will win the match.” Captain of Maziya S&R Abdulla Asadhulla said, “Today (Monday) is the birthday of our coach and we like to give him the birthday gift winning the match.”
