Maldives goalkeeper coach Aslam Abdul Ghani has made a statement about Maldives goalkeeper Mohamed Faisal.

Faisal, The Most Valuable Player of SAFF Championship 2018, was injured in the first half of Maldives 1-0 victory over Sri Lanka yesterday evenings SAFF Championship clash.

"In Sha Allah our wall is strong" posted Aslam on his Facebook page. National staff are hopeful that Faisal will play a part.

Faisal injured himself in yesterdays match in the first half falling awkwardly. Faisal's deputy at Valencia Mohamed Shafeeu(Chech) replaced him at first half and kept a clean sheet on his debut. The SUS bound goalkeeper was named the best goalkeeper of Dhivehi Premier League 2020-21 first round.

Maldives next match is against India on the 13th of October. A point will see Maldives above India and a place in the final would be guaranteed.
