Nepal beat Sri lanka to go top of standings

Nepal go top of the standings with a 3-2 win over Sri Lanka. The result means the Lanka lions are out of the competition with two defeats. Meanwhile, Nepal now have six points from two games and sit comfortable at the top of the Ooredoo SAFF Championship standings.

Nepal took the lead in the 31st minute when Suman Lama tucked away a rebounded shot of the woodwork to give Abdullah Al Mutairi's side the lead. Soon after the restart Nepal found the back of the net again. Navayung fired in from a rebounded shot to give Nepal a 2-0 lead. 

Marvin Hamilton gave Sri Lanka hope in the 58th minute with a rocket flying past Nepal goalie Kiran into the top corner of the net. Three minutes from the final whistle Ayush Galan fired home the match winner and turn the score to 3-1 on Nepal's favor. 

Sri Lanka did pull back a late goal after Dillion De Silva found the back of the net from the penalty spot. However, it was took little too late as Sri Lanka go crashing out of the competition.
